Module 1

Practical AI for the New Economy

Module 1: AI Literacy and Smart Assistants

Resources and hands-on exercises

Here you'll find the resources we'll use during the session to explore ChatGPT's features and put them into practice.

01

Set up your AI

Before we start working, we'll tell the AI how we want it to work with us. These general instructions act as a guide for conversations and help the AI tailor its answers to our needs.

Instructions

How I want the AI to work.

Prompt

What I want the AI to do.

1. Set up your instructions

Set up these general instructions to tell the AI how you want it to work with you.

Instructions

Don't agree with me by default. Your job is to find the weakest point in what I say before validating it. Point out bad logic, blind spots and counterarguments, especially when I sound most confident. No empty flattery. If you're about to start with 'that's a great point' or 'you're absolutely right', stop and rewrite. Get to the point from the first sentence. If something won't work, say so first.

After any interaction where you're not quite sure what I want, ask me whatever questions you think are relevant.

Projects

A project lets you bring together conversations, instructions and files related to the same goal in a single workspace.

Hands-on challenge

Let's reinvent Parque Piantini

The challenge

We have information about how people use Parque Piantini: when they visit, what they do, how long they stay and what they think of their experience.

Our mission is to use this data and Artificial Intelligence to identify opportunities and develop proposals that can improve the park experience.

1

Step 1 — Create the project

Create a new project in ChatGPT and use the following information to set it up.

Project name

Let's Reinvent Parque Piantini
2

Step 2 — Add the resources

Download the following files and add them to your project in ChatGPT. These resources will be part of the context we'll work with during the exercise.

Project brief

Learn the overall context of the challenge, its goals, scope and key considerations.

Download brief

Traffic and use report

Explore how the park is used by time of day, visitor profiles, length of stay and activities.

Download report

User survey

Discover the habits, needs, opinions and expectations of the people who use the park.

Download survey

Space profile

Review the park's functional zones, their current uses and operating conditions.

Step 3 — Open a new chat

Once you've created the project and uploaded the resources, open a new chat inside the project.

Practice prompt

Analyze all the information available in the project and propose 3 actionable initiatives to improve the user experience.

The proposals must respond to needs or opportunities identified in the data and be feasible within the available budget.

For each initiative include:

- problem or opportunity it aims to address
- data supporting the proposal
- proposed solution
- actions required to implement it
- estimated budget
- expected impact

At the end, prioritize the 3 initiatives and recommend which one should be implemented first, explaining why. I want the result as a PDF document.

What if tomorrow you need to keep working on this project?

You don't have to start from scratch.

Open a new chat inside the Project. ChatGPT will still have access to the context, files and instructions you added.

Try this prompt

Create 3 social media content ideas that help us generate interest and conversation around this initiative.

For each idea include:

- content concept
- recommended format
- main copy
- caption

Notice something 👀

  • You didn't mention Parque Piantini.
  • You didn't explain the initiative again.
  • You didn't share the documents again.

The context already lives inside the Project.

03

Schedule a task

Create a scheduled task to receive a report every Friday with ChatGPT updates, their practical uses and links to the official announcements.

Goal: learn to schedule a recurring task and check its instructions, frequency and results.

1

Step 1 — Open a conversation

Open a new chat in ChatGPT.

2

Step 2 — Copy and send the prompt

Copy the full text and send it.

Scheduling prompt

Schedule a weekly report every Friday at 9:00 a.m., in the America/Santo_Domingo time zone, with the ChatGPT updates published during the last seven days.

## SOURCE
Check this official OpenAI page and open the linked articles:
https://openai.com/news/product-releases/

Select the announcements related to ChatGPT and its user-facing features. Exclude news that is exclusively about the API or software development.

## FORMAT
Deliver the report in English, with a friendly, clear and easy-to-read tone. Avoid jargon and long paragraphs.

### 🗓️ This week in ChatGPT
Period: [dates reviewed]

### IN ONE MINUTE
Summarize the most relevant news of the week in two or three sentences.

### WHAT'S NEW
Include up to five updates. For each one:

#### ✨ [Short title]
- What changed: a simple explanation.
- How it helps you: a practical example of use at work.
- Who can use it: plans, devices or regions stated in the announcement. Highlight whether it's available on Free.
- 🔗 Read the announcement: direct link to the official article.

### 🧪 WHAT YOU CAN TRY
Pick one of the updates and suggest a simple test, with a sample prompt when useful. Prioritize one available on Free. If that access isn't confirmed, say so.

## RULES
- Use only the page above and the official articles linked from it.
- Check the publication date and read each article; don't rely on the title alone.
- Distinguish between a feature that is available and one that is still rolling out.
- If the plan isn't specified, write "The announcement doesn't specify".
- Present work examples as suggestions, not as claims by OpenAI.
- If you find fewer than five updates, include only those available.
- If there are no relevant updates, say so clearly. Don't fill in with old announcements.
- If you can't access the page, report the limitation and don't make up news.

Step 3 — Check the task

  • ChatGPT confirms the task was created.
  • The frequency is every Friday.
  • The time is 9:00 a.m.
  • The time zone is America/Santo_Domingo.
  • It appears under Scheduled tasks.
  • The notifications you want to receive are enabled.

If your free account only allows time slots, change ‘at 9:00 a.m.’ to ‘in the morning’ and check the confirmed schedule.

Deliverable

Upload to the platform:

  1. A screenshot of the confirmed task with its frequency and time.
  2. A screenshot or copy of the test report.
  3. One sentence explaining which update you would try and why.
